Hosts Alan Carr and Amanda Holden expressed gratitude at Charles’ attendance after the Queen had to drop out at the last minute.

King Charles III has accepted flowers on behalf of the Queen as he arrived at the Royal Variety Performance alone on Friday. Earlier in the day, Buckingham Palace said Queen Camilla would not be attending the show following "lingering post-viral" symptoms from a recent chest infection.

Presenters Amanda Holden and Alan Carr led the stars arriving at the 2024 Royal Variety Performance, hours after the Queen pulled out due to lingering symptoms from a chest infection. Doctors have advised the Queen - who is 77 - to prioritise rest as she continues to recover from her infection that resulted in her pulling out from many scheduled events including Remembrance Sunday.
