Mikel Arteta said both Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice didn’t look very good after Arsenal’s draw at Chelsea, sparking injury concerns for both the Gunners and England. Arteta’s team were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in a game which didn’t lack effort or intensity, but was missing quality.

Reports in Italy suggested that the knee issue was not a serious one, and Arteta confirmed ahead of the trip to Newcastle that the defender was likely to miss a “few weeks”. There has been no firm update on Calafiori’s recovery, but Arsenal will hope to have him available again later this month.
