Stellantis is delaying the launch of its Ram electric pickup trucks from this year until the first half of 2025.

Since the parent company behind well-known American car brands like Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram Trucks reported dramatic first-half 2024 earnings losses in July, it has been on a crash diet in an attempt to control its spending dramatically.

Stellantis said on Tuesday it will deploy a new vehicle system that will support assembly of gasoline, hybrid and electric models, but in a sign of how turbulent the electric-vehicle transition is, the automaker also delayed production of Ram electric pickup trucks.

Delaying the RAM 1500 REV and Ramcharger will give the brand time to get its ducks in a row and solve existing problems.

Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) has pushed the launch of its Ram all-electric pickup truck from this year to the first half of 2025, CEO Carlos Tavares said, to ensure quality as the automaker juggles several EV launches like the Dodge Charger Daytona and Jeep Wagoneer S.
