The Ineos Grenadier may be virtually unstoppable off-road, but it’s hit a roadblock in production thanks to a missing trim piece that a supplier cannot provide due to what has been described as “a pre-insolvency situation”. Neither the supplier, nor the trim piece, has been named.

Ineos has paused vehicle production as a supplier can't deliver a key part, and the company has yet to confirm when it'll be able to resume it.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s car company has been forced to halt production as the supplier of a crucial component used in its vehicles battles possible bankruptcy.

The news comes from Ineos Automotive CEO Lynn Calder in an interview with Automotive News Europe. The supplier issue affects Grenadier and Quartermaster models. "I know that the [supplier] is working really hard to try and turn around their business and I want to give them every opportunity to do that”, she said.

Output of the Grenadier and its derivative is being stopped at the off-road vehicle maker's French factory until it can regain access to a key component.
