The BJP was leading in more seats than the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in early trends as the counting of postal ballots was underway on Saturday. The counting of votes for the Jharkhand state polls began at 8 am amid tight security.

Jharkhand Election Results: As the counting of votes is underway in Jharkhand, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led I.N.D.I.A bloc has crossed the majority mark of 41 seats in early trends. As per the latest trends, I.N.D.I.A block is leading on 42 seats, while BJP-led NDA is ahead on 30 seats. Meanwhile, others are leading on 2 seats.

NDA, which is fighting as a team in both states, has taken an early lead in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand. In contrast, the INDIA bloc that put up a divided front in Jharkhand is currently struggling to catch up.

Exit polls predicted the NDA could win between 42 and 47 seats, while the JMM-led alliance is expected to secure 25 and 30 seats.
