President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday named John Ratcliffe as his pick for CIA director in the next administration.Ratcliffe, a former congressman from Texas, was director of national intelligence in Trump's first term.

President-elect Trump announced Tuesday that he will nominate John Ratcliffe, his former head of national intelligence, to lead the CIA. Ratcliffe, a former Texas representative, was critical of investigations into Trump while in Congress and later served as a member of his impeachment team during Democrats’ first effort to boot Trump from office.

John Ratcliffe, the former Texas congressman and director of national intelligence in Trump’s first term, is in line to head the premier all-source spy agency.
