Just as there are good odds the turkey will taste dry, airports and highways are expected to be jam-packed during Thanksgiving week, a holiday period likely to end in another record day for air travel in the United States.

The TSA expects to see record-setting numbers next week. The agency projects they’ll screen 2.8 million passengers on Tuesday, 2.9 million passengers on Wednesday, and more than three million passengers on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. TSA administrator David Pekoske says the agency has seen high numbers all year and is ready for the holiday rush.

A record 80 million Americans are expected to travel for Thanksgiving this year, according to AAA projections. The big picture: That's an increase of 1.7 million people from last year's record-shattering figure.
