A tropical system is forecasted to make landfall Monday on South Carolina’s coast.
The low pressure does not have enough tropical features right now, but it could be upgraded to a tropical storm. If it is upgraded to a tropical storm, it will be named Helene, making it the eighth named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season. Monday, the low is forecasted to make landfall south of Myrtle Beach.
Tropical Storm Warning issued for South Carolina, North Carolina coasts
The National Weather Service issued Tropical Storm Warnings for coastal areas of the Carolinas on Monday. Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight is expected to bring impacts from Edisto Beach, South Carolina, to Ocracoke Inlet, North Carolina, forecasters said. More than two million people in the coastal area are under tropical storm warnings.
