Easton Cowan welcomes the challenges of trying to make the Leafs because he’s been hardened by the sprawling farm where he came of age.

The 19-year-old is coming off an MVP season with the London Knights and is pushing for a spot with the Leafs this season.

Cowan had an eye-popping camp last year, followed by a terrific year with the Knights and an appearance with Canada’s world junior team. He was probably the best Leafs prospect last weekend in a pair of rookie games in Montreal. “Just using my confidence and momentum from the year we had,” he said.
