Utah rallied in the fourth quarter and even held a late lead, but the Cyclones scored a touchdown with 1:31 to play to hand the Utes their seventh straight loss.

Utah’s losing streak continues. And its bowl hopes are no more. The Utes fell 31-28 to No. 22 Iowa State on Saturday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium. With a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, senior kicker Cole Becker pushed a 54-yard field goal wide right.

Iowa State enters the game with the best passing defense in not only the Big 12, but the nation. The 153.4 passing yards per game allowed by the Cyclones ranks No. 3 in the nation and is a huge reason for their 8-2 record.
