History has a funny way of repeating itself, and that could come back to bite one NFL team in dire need of a quarterback. This week Deion Sanders appeared on the FS1 show Speak and said that he will step in to stop his son Shedeur being drafted by the wrong team.

The move echoes one Sanders made during his own draft process in 1989. The Giants asked draft prospects to take a two-hour psychological assessment at the NFL Scouting Combine. Upon learning the Giants had the 18th pick in the draft, Sanders declined to take the assessment.

During the transition, he brought a wave of new talent with him from Jackson State, including his son, the team's starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Shedeur Sanders is projected as a Top 10 2025 NFL draft pick, and in nine games this season, he's thrown for 2,882 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
