Hezbollah has fired about 250 rockets and other projectiles into Israel in response to a deadly strike in Beirut, in one of the Lebanese militant group's heaviest barrages in months. The Israeli military said some of the rockets reached Tel Aviv on Sunday,

The U.N. Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 1701 in August 2006 as part of a cease-fire that ended Israel’s last war with Lebanon. The resolution sought to create a buffer zone in southern Lebanon to prevent fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, but has failed to keep the peace.

Sirens sounded across Israel and multiple people were injured on Sunday in rocket strikes from Lebanon, the Israeli military said, as the Lebanese Army recorded another fatality from an Israeli attack.
