Brett Goldstein 's first day on set with Jason Segel was memorable in more ways than one. The Ted Lasso star created Apple TV+'s Shrinking alongside Segel, 44, and Bill Lawrence, and joined the cast in season 2, which premiered in October.

In a recent talk show appearance Brett Goldstein spoke about joining the cast of Shrinking after working on it behind the scenes. The actor recalled how his first scene partner, Jason Segel kept spitting on his face.

"I just didn’t really want to look at him in the face," Jason Segel said of his 'Shrinking' co-creator and co-star Brett Goldstein.

While getting into character was understandably elaborate, in the spirit of Shrinking Season 1’s beloved therapy technique (a 15-minute cry to a moving song on repeat) Goldstein also shared his go-to sob anthem. “If you need to cry and you ain’t got time, quick! Whack on ‘Lately’ by Stevie Wonder,” the actor said with a chuckle.

Segel encouraged Goldstein to take on the role of Louis, a drastic departure physically and otherwise from the gruff, fully-bearded UK football star Roy Kent that he portrayed on the Emmy-winning “Ted Lasso” for three seasons.
